To start my project, I wanted to do something different than my previous pieces. Before I started, I was thinking how I tried to focus on more of Texas's setting rather than cowboys and other Texan stuff. I wanted to create a piece representing what most people believe Texas looks like. I first picked a background for the sky that represented the Texas cotton candy sky. Then I placed a picture of the desert and layer masked the image to take away the original sky. I decided I wanted the different colors and aspects of my image to be more settled, so I took down the contrast of the overall piece.
As I was getting further into my project, I decided to change the mountain ranges in the background to larger ones to add more depth to my piece and bring in different color aspects. I used my adjustment tools to adjust the contrast and brightness and turn down the saturation. I then found another image of mountain ranges and inserted them behind the other. I wanted to create a fuller look, so I adjusted the sizing and played with different color schemes. After I finished the mountains, I placed a planet on the mountains' horizon to bring different lighting to my piece. I decided to add the outer glow to add more interest to my piece.
To finish off my picture, I wanted to incorporate another Texan idea so that is how I decided to add Dr. Pepper. I thought it was a great idea to find a picture of a hand pouring Dr. Pepper into the mountains to add more diversity to my piece to finish it off. I used different tools to adjust the coloring properly.
